2024/07/07 16:18

Odaily News According to official news, the Celo Foundation announced the launch of the Celo L2 testnet Dango, which is a key step for core contributor cLabs to introduce EVM-compatible independent blockchains to Ethereum. The plan was first proposed during EthCC 2023, and it is proposed to fork the Alfajores test network to Dango, allowing ecological developers to begin transitioning their projects to the latest iteration of blockchains built for the real world and designed for fast, low-cost global payments. With the launch of Dango today, all historical data of Alfajores, including smart contracts, accounts, and balances, will be retained and carried forward. The testnet is built on Optimisms OP Stack. With the Eigen Foundations strategic funding of the Celo community and the communitys support for cLabs subsequent governance proposals, the Celo L2 testnet uses EigenDA as an alternative data availability layer to maintain low transaction fees.
