Odaily News David Fischer, plant manager at a bitcoin mine owned by Marathon Digital, one of the leading cryptocurrency miners in the United States, was found not guilty on 12 noise violation charges in North Texas. According to Hood County Sheriff John Shirley, more than 40 nearby citizens complained about the noise levels emitted by the facility, saying it exceeded 85 decibels and could cause public health problems. The defendant argued that these noise level readings were exaggerated. Another problem in this case is that the noise citation was directed at Fischer, and it was difficult for the jury to connect the manager to the source of the noise problem and to what extent he could alleviate the noise problem.
