At the beginning of this year, Kodak signed a licensing cooperation agreement with WENN Digital,Co-launched a digital rights management system called KODAKOne and launched its token KODAKCoin. When Kodak first announced the release of Kodak Coin and its ICO plan, Kodaks stock price rose sharply. Previously, WENN Digital also wanted to raise funds through a combination of public and private token sales, planning to raise $50 million.
On Monday, WENN Digital announced a partnership with Oak View Group (OVG) to connect the sports world with the KODAKOne platform. According to public information, OVG is a member alliance of world-class venues, with 65 million users in North America alone, and received US$100 million in financing in the first half of this year.
It is understood that Kodak will cooperate with four NBA stadiums and two NHL stadiums this time. Fans can upload and share live photos and videos to the KODAKO platform during the game, and Kodak will randomly give users KODAKCoin rewards.
In addition, photographers can also store their work on the KODAKOne platform. The KODAKOne platform uses the traceability and non-tamperability of the blockchain to protect the sale and authorization of photographic works, and KODAKCoin will be used for payment within the platform.
WENN Digital CEO Jan Denecke said the KODAKOne platform and KODAKCoin aim to pay photographers fairly and establish a secure digital asset rights management system.
Denecke has previously said, We want to introduce the Kodak platform to a creative audience who can both benefit from the platform and become early adopters. This seems to explain Kodaks involvement in sports this time.
