Tell us about your journey in Polkadot?
I am Pang Xiaojie, the co-founder of PolkaWorld. I joined the blockchain industry in 2017 and worked as the head of the Chinese community in a technology media company Silicon Valley Secret Agent. I am also in charge of blockchain course development and online live broadcast columns. Afterwards, I started a business and built a knowledge education brand HashBang, and at the same time helped some blockchain projects to build communities. During this process, I noticed Polkadot, especially the technical framework of Substrate. After communicating with many developers, I got a lot of positive feedback on Substrate. . After that, PolkaWorld, the first Chinese community of Polkadot, was created. Through the output of articles, AMA/interview, meetup/Polkadot China tour, Substrate workshop, Substrate Hackathon, it helps fans in the Chinese community understand Polkadot.
The PolkaWorld community currently gathers more than 30,000 Polkadot enthusiasts, has output 533 articles related to Polkadot/Kusama/Substrate, and has read 1,105,912 times in 2020 (based on the WeChat official account), and interviewed 30 ecological projects/Substrate development Held 9 Meetups and Polkadot China Tour, attracting a total of 2453 people to participate in offline activities, held 16 Substrate workshops, 1153 developers participated in Substrate learning, successfully held 1 hackathon, from 4 countries around the world 22 teams signed up to participate, and two projects got the foundations grant later. The idea of acala was also born in this hackathon.
PolkaWorld has always been committed to popularizing Polkadot technical knowledge, cultivating Substrate developers, and supporting Polkadot eco-entrepreneurs, thereby promoting the development of Chinas Web3.0 ecology. PolkaWorld is the worlds largest Polkadot Chinese community.

Dr. Gavin Wood, of course.

How is Polkadot different from other similar technologies?
There are so many different places.
The first is the organizational structure behind Polkadot, the Web3 Foundation and Parity Technology. They each take on different roles to help Polkadot move forward.
The last point is that Polkadot’s technology is very innovative, which has never been seen before, such as no fork upgrade on the chain, governance on the chain, Kusama first network, etc.
secondary title
Do you think everyone understands what makes Polkadot different?
This problem also exists on Polkadot, so we see that the technical education team of the Web3 Foundation is doing a lot of work to popularize Polkadot, including communities like PolkaWorld, and is also helping everyone better understand what Polkadot is, Polkadot What is it doing, what advantages does it have, etc.

I have no way of knowing what brands Polkadot users like. As for mobile wallpapers or computer desktops, I know that someone has photos of Gavin Wood and Elon Musk on their desktops.
For Chinese market audience

The Chinese market is very diverse, and it is very sensitive and quick to respond to changes in the industry, and sometimes leads the direction of the industry.

Of course there are! Many people still have cultural differences to China, and may think that Chinese projects are not innovative, which may be a prejudice! China has the most hardworking and pragmatic developers, because along with their enthusiasm for code, they must also pursue the practicality and achievability of the project.

This may be a problem that many blockchain projects will face. For example, setting up/creating a Polkadot account and address, including understanding some technical details of Polkadot, etc., are the biggest obstacles. This also shows that the popularization of blockchain has a long way to go, and it is also a part that Gavin attaches great importance to. Therefore, the Web3 Foundation has a technical education department dedicated to knowledge education!
About the project/brand

I think it represents the Apple or iOS era of the internet.

rose Red! Because in China this color already represents Polkadot and Gavin Wood.

For this project, how do you consider it a success? What counts as a failure?
Its success lies in Gavins initial definition and architectural design of Web3.0 and Polkadot. I dont think theres a place where it has failed so far. There will be many problems in the process of realizing Polkadot, and I hope it can be guided by the original idea rather than catering to the market. We see that all the current progress is guided by the original idea, and problems arise to solve problems, and continuous innovation, which is my definition of success.
