Hackathon Overview
The ETHiopia x BAM Hackathon was held online from February 10 to 14, attracting 108 registered developers and innovators to explore Ethereum technology in depth. The event included technical workshops on Solidity development and sessions to encourage creative skills development, and ultimately 38 projects were reviewed and approved. These projects showcased the participants technical creativity and their commitment to blockchain technology.
The Hackathon promotes the creation of solutions within the Ethereum ecosystem, focusing on community contributions and innovative applications in real-world scenarios. Participants gain skills and explore blockchain innovation while building a developer network. The event offers a $2,000 USDC cash prize to reward projects that excel in code quality, community engagement, and demonstrated skills.
Entities including ETHiopia, BAM and THE MU promote an environment for African Web3 BUIDLers to drive impactful solutions. The collaboration highlights the role of blockchain in addressing real-world challenges and empowering African developers and BUIDLers.

ETHiopia X Circles Award Winners
First place: Ethera
Ethera supports African content creators to monetize through blockchain, using Circles Protocol and CRC tokens for transactions to ensure transparency and decentralization on Gnosis Chain. It verifies user identity through Circles Protocol Avatar.
2nd Place: ETHqub
ETHiopia x BAM General Hackathon Winners
First Place: Imara
Imara is a decentralized platform that helps blockchain developers build teams. It leverages milestone-based staking and governance tools to enhance collaboration, prevent project abandonment, and aims to achieve broad integration within the blockchain ecosystem.
2nd Place: Hakiba
Hakiba is a decentralized lending protocol that facilitates community credit on the blockchain. It implements collateralization, guarantees, and on-chain insurance to facilitate responsible lending and borrower support, using Solidity smart contracts and FastAPI.
