Trump Media and Technology Group in ‘advanced talks’ to acquire crypto trading firm Bakkt: People familiar with the matter

Odaily News Trump Media is in advanced talks to acquire cryptocurrency trading company Bakkt, according to two people familiar with the matter. The news caused the share prices of both companies to rise rapidly after it was announced. Trump Media is majority-owned by Trump. The company operates the Truth Social app and trades on the Nasdaq under the symbol DJT, closing up more than 16%. Bakkt, created by Intercontinental Exchange, owner of the New York Stock Exchange, saw its stock price soar more than 162% amid multiple trading halts due to volatility.
