Neo announces Asia-Pacific hackathon winners, covering popular AI and social tracks

On October 28, the community-driven open source blockchain platform Neo held the Neo Asia Pacific Hackathon Finals in Hong Kong and announced the five final winning teams, each team corresponding to a Web3 track. This also marks the official end of this four-month hackathon competition. These five winning teams will join the Web3.0 Global Acceleration Program jointly launched by Neo and Web3 Labs, and officially begin their journey of entrepreneurship and innovation in Web3.

The Neo Asia Pacific Hackathon was first officially launched on Neos Twitter in July, aiming to provide a grand competition stage for Web3 entrepreneurs and developers from Asia and other regions. Participants will compete for stage prizes and a grand prize totaling more than $120,000, and have the opportunity to join an incubation program totaling $1 million. This move aligns closely with the positive regulatory environment for the Web3 industry in the region and demonstrates Neos commitment to promoting the prosperity of the Web3 space in Asia. In the early stage, the event toured five cities in Asia to hold city station competitions: Tokyo, Ho Chi Minh City, Bangalore, Seoul and Singapore, and finally held the finals in Hong Kong; it also held online seminars, mentorships and other online activities to attract and support the APAC region Web3 talents.

The five winning teams come from five popular Web3 tracks

On the afternoon of the second day of the two-day Neo Asia Pacific Hackathon finals, all 23 shortlisted teams took to the stage to showcase their outstanding performance in their respective Web3 fields. The five tracks are: decentralized finance and payment, NFT and games, AI, social and DAO, infrastructure and general tracks. Among these outstanding teams, five stood out and won the final award. The winning team is:

- Prophet - DeFi and payments;

- magipop - AI, social and DAO;

- NeoCast - infrastructure;

- RΞSPECT - Regular.

*NFT and game prizes are temporarily on hold due to possible violations of the terms of the hackathon competition by participating teams.

Prophet

Prophet is a decentralized platform that enables users to predict event outcomes. By depositing GAS tokens, users receive TRUE and FALSE tokens, allowing them to make predictions about future outcomes. If their predictions are correct, users win rewards. The platform charges a percentage of operating costs. It is built on the Neo ecosystem, runs on the N3 Testnet, utilizes the NeoLine wallet, and the test token is Gas. NeoCastIt is an open communication middleware built on Neo that provides cross-chain notifications and messages for dapps, wallets and services. Its protocol allows any smart contract, dApp or backend service to communicate on and off the chain through user wallet addresses, providing an open, free, multi-chain approach without platform restrictions. Wallets can subscribe to topics and use oracle services or backend services to broadcast or send messages from smart contracts through APIs to specific wallets within the topic.

The winner in each category will receive a final prize of $10,000 and be included in the Web3.0 global acceleration program launched by Neo and Web3 Labs, with $1 million in support provided in part by the Neo Foundation. Before the Hong Kong finals, seeing many university student teams participating, Neo temporarily decided to add a Neo Star Award to recognize the important participation of university development teams. This special award is given to the best team that includes at least one college student, with SuperSquad emerging as the winner of the coveted Neo Star Award.
