We gained insights from the builders of Rollup, Validium, and Optimium to understand why they chose their technology stacks, how they think about interoperability, scalability, and more.
Avail recently hosted a series of panel discussions on hot topics at Devconnect in Istanbul. The panel discussion on Rollup, Validium and Optimium was moderated by Avail co-founder Prabal Banerjee. Guests included:
Mingshi, Head of Strategy at Astar
Zoe Li, Head of Strategy at Mantle
Victor Ji, co-founder of Manta Network
Cometh CEO Jerome de Tychey
Co-founder of Automata NetworkDeli Gong
How do you choose a technology stack?
Zoe Li, Head of Strategy at Mantle
Zoe highlighted the challenges of choosing the right technology stack. There is currently an ongoing debate about using OP Stack or zkEVM because this is the wave of the future, but at the same time flexibility is also important and priority should be given to the best user experience. technology.
“We really want to be able to evolve with the industry, integrating and plugging into the latest technologies that we can use to achieve the best user experience.”
Victor Ji, co-founder of Manta Network
Victor agreed that optimizing the technology stack is to provide a better user experience. “These fully on-chain games consume huge gas fees, which is what users complain about.”
Manta Network has a long-term roadmap and they are committed to optimizing the technology stack to provide customers with a superior user experience, even if that means transforming the data availability layer or execution layer in the future.
What do you think of the development of L2 and L3?
Cometh CEO Jerome de Tychey
In an ideal world, wed navigate through the levels just like we navigate the web. Jumping to a new site would be quick and easy for anyone. Oh, its an L 4? Never mind. Ill just bring my The single sign-on, which is My Wallet, can now be interacted with.”
What is the best way to deliver trust-minimizing messaging?
Mingshi Song, Head of Strategy at Astar
Mingshi and the Astar team are committed to bringing real-world use cases onto the chain. He emphasized the importance of non-crypto-native users being able to interact with these blockchain-based systems in a way that “doesn’t feel blockchain-y.”
What are the failure modes in your Rollup? How do you plan to address these challenges?
Deli Gong, co-founder of Automata Network
The Deli Gong and Automata Network teams are in multi-phase testing and are currently testing a single sequencer, but plan to move to multiple.
In the future we may also plug in other data availability layers (DA layers). So there are definitely many other stages.
