On July 15, the Base chain recorded 3.28 million transactions. As of the end of the week of July 19, this number had climbed to 3.52 million, an average daily increase of about 1.8% over the week. As the number of transactions surged, Bases number of active addresses also hit a record high. The number of active addresses increased from 567,000 on July 15 to nearly 650,000 on July 19 (Friday), an average daily increase of about 3.5% over the same period. At the same time, Bases fees have seen a significant surge, with fees collected on July 20 reaching the highest single-day total in more than a month at $177,000. In terms of total locked value (TVL) on the chain, Base still lags behind Arbitrum. As of press time, Bases TVL is $1.77 billion, while Arbitrums TVL is $3.25 billion.
