Australian computer scientist and technology entrepreneur Craig Wright has asserted that Satoshi Nakamoto, the author of the Bitcoin white paper, stole his ideas.
Speaking at the CC London Blockchain Investment and Artificial Intelligence Forum 2019, which was held from October 14 to October 16, Wright claimed that he was about to disclose the final proof of the authorship of its original Bitcoin code. According to Wright, this will come in the form of a paper he wrote in 2008.
Wright said that Satoshi incorporated entire sections of the paper into the Bitcoin white paper, and after realizing he was referring to Satoshi in the third person, Wright said:
Whether Im Satoshi or Satoshi copied me, you can choose not to care because he literally pulled the whole thing from my LOM. So its either me or... I dont care if you like it or not.
Notably, Wright has always claimed that Satoshi Nakamoto was an alias for a partnership between him and his late business partner Dave Kleiman, who was completely The entity responsible for inventing Bitcoin. After Kleimans death, Wright began arguing that he was actually Satoshi.
As previously reported, Wright has become one of the most controversial figures in the cryptocurrency community, largely due to his claims that he is the original creator of Bitcoin. Wright has filed 114 blockchain patents since 2017 and lists two PhDs on his LinkedIn page, including one from Charles Sturt University .
Eventually, Forbes contacted the university and discovered that it had not awarded Wright any doctorates, despite having earned three masters degrees in network and systems administration, administration (IT), and information systems security. However, Wright was awarded a PhD by Charles Sturt University later in 2017.
