Observation and ViewpointThe first is the situation of the Polkadot and Kusama network slot Auction. Polkadot is currently conducting the 21st slot Auction, and anonymous IDs 2044 and 2045 are bidding; Polkadot’s cross-chain authentication protocol InvArch’s test network Tinkernet won the Kusama network’s 41st place Subslot Auction.。

Polkadot Dynamics
In addition, the previous billionaire Frank McCourt donated 100 million US dollars to help establish decentralized social media, and Frank McCourt's Project Liberty reached a cooperation with Polkadot. So a parachain called Frequency dedicated to decentralized social media is about to launch into the Polkadot ecosystem.

[Polkadot is about to launch a new version of the governance system Gov2 and will abolish the Polkadot Council]
Polkadot announced a new version of its governance system called Governance version 2 (Gov2). With Gov2, the team hopes to significantly decentralize Polkadot's decision-making process. At the ongoing Decoded conference, the Polkadot core team stated that its current governance system needs an overhaul because it is too centralized. They point out that the Polkadot Council is a central body of executives with exclusive decision-making power on matters such as treasury spending. In this regard, the team believes that this runs counter to Polkadot's idea of decentralization. Therefore, the team chose to scrap the Polkadot Council. For Gov2, the team has prepared a software framework that will remove the Polkadot Council and replace it with a "referendum". The latter is a voting system where anyone can initiate proposals. The new governance system will soon be launched on Polkadot’s canary network, Kusama, and will later be deployed on the Polkadot mainnet, but does not require a hard fork.
